The Provost of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba says his administration is remodeling the College in the Area of infrastructure and academic standards to make it one of the best in the country.
Dr. Fashagba stated this when he appeared on Monday’s edition of State of Kogi, a Radio Kogi Audience Participatory Programme.
The Provost noted that the mandate given to him by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo upon assumption of office was to remodel the College to compete favourably with its counterparts in the country.
According to him, the mandate is being met in the last one hundred days in office with the restoration of power and water supply to the College in a bid to create a conducive for teaching and learning.
He noted that the State Government is giving the college the needed support to produce responsive and responsible teachers for the State and the Nation at large.
Dr. Fashagba stated that in a bid to ensure academic Standard, plans are on to repeal the law establishing the College as well as attraction of necessary interventions.
He explained that college under his watch has improved up-to-date patrol with the procurement of motorcycles to the Security Unit to enhance their jobs.
The Provost while acknowledging bad reading culture to the low level of academic performance in the country, maintained that the College is addressing the trend.
He applauded the laudable achievements of Governor Ododo in the health, education, agriculture and infrastructure development, pledging not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him.
Some Callers, Suleiman Ibrahim from Lokoja and Korede Omoayo from Abuja expressed confidence in the capacity of the Provost in transforming the School, describing his appointment as well deserved.
