Kogi State University Kabba says it is building responsible future leaders that will add value to the State and the nation at large.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kehinde Imisioluwa Eniola made this known at a Media Briefing to mark the second Matriculation of the Institution in Kabba.
According to Prof. Eniola, the nation needs responsive and responsible Leaders, hence the measure being put in place to equip students with Leadership skills while a learner friendly environment is being created.
The Vice Chancellor maintained that the university is also building an entrepreneurship approach to enable the students to learn trade and skill that will make students self reliant.
He said less than two years after its establishment, the University has made significant progress with additional projects including; Male and Female Hostels, Ultramodern Senate building and Faculty of Science with laboratories which has added direct impact on the University Community.
Prof. Eniola noted that while the University is currently being over subscribed, Bursary for students and health insurance scheme have enhanced teaching and learning.
He added that about seven hundred and fifty students of the University have benefitted from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Asked on the implications of the proposed scrapping of TEFUND in twenty thirty, the Vice Chancellor said the move will have a catastrophic Effect on Tertiary Education.
