Tributes As Kogi Assembly Holds Valedictory Session For Late Enema Paul

A valedictory session in honor of the immediate past Deputy Speaker and Member Representing Dekina-Okura Constituency, Late Enema Paul, has been held at the floor of Kogi State House of Assembly.

it was a solemn moment for members of Kogi State House of Assembly, relations and friends of the late lawmaker who were adorned in black attire as they paid their last respect to him.

Speaking during the session, Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf described late Enema Paul as an an individual with unique features that set him apart.

Hon. Aliyu Yusuf who was moved to tears, noted that the late lawmaker In his time in public service both as a former Commissioner and Deputy Speaker, epitomized leadership with integrity, wisdom, and dedication, said he is already being missed by his colleagues, family, friends, and the entire Kogi State community.

“He was a man deeply committed to the growth and development of Kogi State, serving as a bridge between governance and the people. His passion for justice, fairness, and equity was evident in the legislative strides he championed, ensuring that the voice of every citizen resonated within the chambers of the House.”
“Beyond his legislative achievements, he was a source of inspiration and mentorship to many. His humility and approachability endeared him to all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Whether addressing matters of state or offering guidance in personal interactions, he remained steadfast in his commitment to uplifting others.”

The Speaker while bidding farewell to Late Enema Paul, said the Eight House of Assembly will not remain the same without him, given his unique approaches to lawmaking and other legislative functions.

On her part, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola in her tribute described late Enema Paul as an astute politician whose humility and Service to humanity can not be quantified.

“I knew him before I came to the House of Assembly and I know roles upon roles that he played politically, destiny made it that I came here to meet him as a second timer and God gave him that leadership role as a head and he was nominated as the Deputy Speaker of this noble chamber; The position he held until 21st December, 2023 that the Barton of that leadership was transferred to me on the ground of ill health.”

The House Majority Leader, Hon. Suleiman Abdulrazak and his Deputy, Hon. Amodu Seidu thanked God for the exemplary life of late Hon. Enema whom he described as a good man and architect of modern democracy in Dekina-Okura Constituency

Other members who took turns to pay their tribute to the late lawmaker said the death of late Enema Paul is a great reminder that there is time for everything on earth, urging members of the House and leaders at all levels to use the death of the lawmaker to make amends where necessary.

Highlight of the program was a special prayer led by Hon. Idris Aliyu Maikudi of Koton-Karfe Constituency and Hon. Abu Jibrin of Ajaokuta Constituency for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to guide and protect the families he left behind.

Enema Paul, born on August 27th, 1978, represented Dekina-Okura State Constituency in the 7th and 8th Assembly.
