A Women Group, South East Yagba Development Association, Women Wing (SEYDAW) has distributed over 15,000 exercise books to fifteen Communities in South East Yagba, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Speaking at the Flag off exercise at Ifeolukotun, President of the Association, Chief Ebun Joel noted that the gesture was in line with the commitment SEYDAW to promoting education.

According to her, education as the bedrock of any progressive society is the tool with which we can build a brighter and more promising future for our children and, by extension, our society.

“Today’s event is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our association to the growth and development of education within our communities. As we all know, education is the bedrock of any progressive society. It is the tool with which we can build a brighter and more promising future for our children and, by extension, our society.

Chief Ebun noted that the 60-leaves exercise books are to be distributed to all secondary schools in south East Yagba to secondary school students across the 15 communities in Okeoyi District, Yagba East Local Government Area.

She said the item was distributed to ease the burden on parents and guardians by providing essential learning materials for students and to encourage them to pursue their academic career.

“The purpose of this initiative is simple but profound: to ease the burden on parents and guardians by providing essential learning materials to our students and to encourage them to pursue their education with renewed zeal and determination. In distributing these exercise books, we aim to make a modest contribution to the academic success of our young scholars, who represent the future of our communities and our nation.

The SEYDAW President maintained that the Body had trained women and youths in different skill acquisition programmes aimed at making them self reliant.

She charged the benefiting students to work hard to enable them succeed in their career.

“As we distribute these exercise books, I encourage our students to make the best use of these materials in their academic journey. Let these books serve not just as tools for learning, but as a reminder of the investment and belief that your community has in your potential.

“To the parents and guardians here today, I urge you to continue supporting your children’s education. Together, let us nurture their dreams and aspirations, as they will one day be the leaders and change-makers in our society.

The Olukotun of Ifeolukotun, Oba Shuaibu Mohammed applauded the women Group for their various interventions in South East Yagba, urging them to sustain the tempo.
