Seven Million People Expected In Next Kogi International Carnival- Orebiyi

The General Manager, Kogi Hotels and Tourism Board, Prince Philip Orebiyi says the next Kogi International Carnival will attract over 7 Million fun seekers to the State.

Prince Orebiyi made this known on this week’s edition of State of Kogi, a Radio Kogi Audience Participatory Programme.

The maiden edition of Kogi international carnival has been done and dusted but the programme has continued to generate reactions especially the projection of the rich Cultural heritage of the State.

The Kogi State Hotels and Tourism Board General Manager, who identified timing as a challenge in organising the event, said work has already commenced for the next edition.

According to him, the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is ready to develop the Culture and Tourism sector, saying the Carnival is a platform for engaging youths in profitable ventures.

He called on corporate bodies and well to do individuals to support the Carnival in a bid to keep the youths busy and make the State a destination for tourists.

The General Manager urged owners of Hotels to up their games as the State is now open to international investors, saying their services will speak on the image of the State.

While a caller, Amina from Anyigba called for improvement in the service of hotels in the State especially Security, Mrs. Janet Ibrahim from Felele Lokoja emphasised the need for regular engagement and training of hoteliers and their staff.
