Senator Natasha Seeks Improved Security for CUSTECH Students, Describes Attack as Heinous

The senator, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has condemned the recent attack on the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in which students were abducted by gunmen.

Senator Natasha equally called for an improved security, describing the attack as “unfortunate and unacceptable,” saying that innocent students should not be subjected to such a heinous act.

In a statement by the lawmaker, the Senator stressed that learning environments must be protected from such attacks and urged security agencies to ensure the safe release of the students and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Natasha offered her support and assistance to ensure the students’ safe return and emphasised the need for measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

According to information released by the university, the attack occurred at approximately 8:23 pm on Thursday, May 9th, when gunmen attacked the university, located in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State and abducted an unspecified number of students who were studying for their first-semester examinations.
