Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho has officially launched the construction of ultra-modern market shops in Dekina, marking the commencement of a large-scale market development project across Kogi East.
This initiative, aims to stimulate economic growth and provide a conducive environment for business activities in the region.
The project, which began in Dekina town, will extend to various selected major markets across Kogi East, reflecting Senator Echocho’s commitment to grassroots economic development.
In addition to the ongoing construction, the Senator has expressed interest in expanding the number of market shops in Dekina to further support local traders and entrepreneurs.
Upon completion, the market facilities will be handed over to the local government for effective management and revenue generation, ensuring sustainability and long-term benefits for the community.
During the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Rashidat Abdullahi, Vice Chairman of Dekina Local Government, who represented the Chairman, Hon. John Urah Ikani, offered prayers for the Senator, acknowledging his dedication to community development.
Hon. Salihu Muhammed, Secretary to the Local Government, also lauded Senator Echocho for his visionary leadership and efforts to boost the local economy.
Traditional leaders were present to lend their support, with HRH Alhaji Hussaini Ismail Ejih, the Achema and District Head of Dekina, representing the Ejeh of Dekina.
Senator Echocho was represented at the event by his Special Adviser on Media, Mikail Ibrahim, who conveyed the Senator’s commitment to improving market infrastructure and empowering local businesses.
