The Senate has administered the oath of office on Barrister Natasha Akpoti Uduagan as the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The administration of oath of office on Barrister Natasha followed her declaration as winner of the Feb. 26 Kogi-Central senatorial election by Kogi State, National and State House of Assemblies Election Petitions Tribunal and the recent affirmation of the tribunal’s judgement by the Appeal Court.
Clerk of the Senate, Mr Chinedu Akubueze, administered the oath on Akpoti Uduahan.
Barrister Natasha, who now represents Kogi Central had challenged the declaration of Sen. Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by INEC as the winner of the Feb 26 senatorial election for Kogi Central.
The State Election Petitions Tribunal had, on Sept 6, declared Akpoti Uduahan the validly elected candidate for the poll and invalidated the victory of Sen. Ohere.
The three-member panel, of the Court of Appeal had in their judgement upheld the judgment of the election petitions tribunal and dismissed the appeal filed by Sen. Abubakar Ohere.
