Individuals, groups or criminal elements and thugs planning to disrupt the Saturday governorship poll in Kogi State have been warned to desist or face the law.
Deputy Inspector General in charge of Force Intelligence, DIG Habu Sani deployed to oversee the governorship election, gave the warning while briefing newsmen in Lokoja with heads of other Agencies saddle with the responsibility of providing security during the election.
DIG Sani warned individuals, groups and criminally minded people or politicians who are desperate to win the election at all cost to play the game by the rules or face the full we6 of the law
He explained that forty thousand security personnel across board has been deployed to provide maximum security for the election from wards to local government areas, stressing that they have been deployed to various communities across the State with very senior police officers overseeing their activities.
DIG Habu said superior power of security personnel were also deployed across the twenty-one local government areas covering water¡, air and land with modern equipment to checkmate any planned activities.
The Police Boss called for useful information from the general public to help achieve free, fair and credible Governorship election on Saturday,
DIG Habu explained that there shall be restriction of all forms of vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation, from 12 am to 6 pm on the election day except those on essential duty .
He urged the public to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies, report any suspicious activities, and exercise their democratic rights peacefully, describing it as a testament to the strength of the democracy, and a shining example of free, fair, secure, and credible elections.
