The Taekwondo community in Kwara State received with great joy and enthusiasm some taekwondo equipment donated to them by the North Central Representative Reverend Godwin Abba
Reverend Godwin Abba urged the Kwara State Taekwondo Association to deepen their commitment and work collectively to enhance the growth and productivity of the sport in the state.
This call was made during the official presentation of Taekwondo equipment to the Kwara State Sports Council, where the North Central Representative of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Reverend Godwin Abba through his delegate, the Kwara State Taekwondo Association Chairman Prof. Abdulateef Owoade to the Director of Sports, Dr. Bako Oladele Ibrahim, emphasized the need for more commitment and dedication among athletes and stakeholders to advance the sport.
According to Reverend Godwin Abba the donated equipments which includes teakwood Body Guards, Head Gears and other training essentials was part of his personal contribution towards the development of Taekwondo in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
He noted that the gesture is aimed at motivating athletes, improving their performance, and promoting the game across the state.
He reassured enthusiasts of his continuous support and called on lovers of the sport in Kwara to collaborate actively for its success.
He particularly praised the leadership of the Kwara State Taekwondo Association, commending the Association’s Chairman, Professor Abdulateef Uwade, and the State Coach Mr Umar for their commitment and effective leadership, describing their performance as commendable and encouraging.
Reverend Godwin Abba also advised the board leadership to view their roles as a call to selfless service and to intensify efforts toward the upliftment of the sport in the State.
In his response, Professor Abdulateef Uwade expressed appreciation for the donation, stating that the equipment would significantly boost training and competitions.
He described Rev. Abba as a man of integrity and a passionate promoter of Taekwondo in the North Central region and beyond, and affirmed the association’s readiness to collaborate with him for the overall good of the sport.
