Chief Medical Director of Reference Hospital Okene, Professor Solomon Avidime says the health facility is a brand which must be marketed.
Professor Avidime stated this on the floor of the house while defending twenty twenty four budget of the Hospital.
He noted that the hospital which has a tourism status will attract foreigners as well as investors in the medical sphere based on the modern equipment found and the services rendered which he attributed to Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to him, the hospital is a two hundred and fifty bedded capacity with a potential of expanding to three hundred, noting that the health facility is well equipped with modern equipment that can be found in developed countries.
The Chief Medical Director who said the hospital is faced with dearth of medical personnel noted that there is need to provide hostel accommodation because the health facility is meant to serve as a teaching hospital to medical students of Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara in the long run.
He noted that prior to his emergence as the Chief Medical Director, the hospital was under a public -private partnership arrangement which made it difficult for people access the health facility due to exorbitant charges, saying that has become a thing of the past.
Professor Avidime commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the huge investment in the hospital and prioritizing the health sector in his new direction government.
He added that the hospital offers primary, secondary and tertiary health care at affordable rates.
