Janet Samuel, Abuja
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria, Abdullah Shawesh has said that real and just political solution base on the international law facilitated by descent and honest moderators is the only way out of Israel’s war on Gaza.
The Palestinian Ambassador who stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday said not conniving on the current butchery and open show of slaughtering, that will lead to the Embodiments of the state of Palestine.
“Only a real and just political solution, based on the international law facilitated by descent, and honest moderators and not complete complicit on the current butchery and open show of slaughtering, that will lead to the Embodiments of the state of Palestine on the June 1967 boarders with East Jerusalem its capital and a fair solution to the Palestine refuges based on the UNGA resolution 194, is the only way out.”
The ambassador while speaking said “Since the issuing of the Despicable Balfour Declaration on November 29, 1917, the oppression, injustice, torture and persecution of the Palestinian people has not stopped. On this exact day, 76 years ago, the United Nation General Assembly UNGA adapted the resolution 181, known also as The Partition Plan for Palestine. In 1977, UNGA, called for an annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.”
He recounted the daily torture inflicted on his people “every time I met you before, and with deep sorrow and heartbreak, I enforced to start by updating you on the latest number of the Palestinian causalities of the Israeli Open Ended butchery party. On the sixth day of the humanitarian truce, some of the families succeeded in counting their losses and reached their destroyed homes, digging and removing the rubbles to search for the remaining of their missing loved ones, sadly hundreds of their bodies were severely decomposed.
“The death toll exceeded the 15 thousand Palestinians, needless to say that the majority of them are children and women. Nearly 40% of the Palestinian homes in Gaza have been totally leveled or suffered grave damages and have become unlivable.
Speaking on the health situation in the state of Palestine, the envoy said, “The health sector is nearly shut down and many patients, especially those who are suffering from chronic diseases like Cancer and kidney failure, have lost their lives due to the lack of necessary medical treatment. 67 media correspondents lost their lives. The humanitarian aid is still very short of covering the necessary needs and the prices for essential products are skyrocketing. The health conditions of the forcedly displaced people living in crowded shelters were worsened, by the chronic shortage of water and hygiene, leading to the appearance of many diseases. The Commission of Detainees Affairs declared that, since Oct 7, the Palestinian detainees toll has gone up to 3200. Since 2015, Israel detained more than 10000 Palestinian children, and the detention toll among them reached 800 since this year alone.’
“As part of the deal sponsored by several countries, Israel released 117 Palestinians from its prisons, and in return imprisoned 116 new prisoners. Needless to say many of them are children. The total number of Palestinian hostages before the recent Israeli aggression was 5,900. More than 2900 people were imprisoned during the past fifty days, all of whom were subjected to torture and ill-treatment. The Israeli government continues to pilfer Palestinian tax funds, and has left the government unable to pay its employees’ salaries and other expenses for the month of October.”
“Civilian lives are endangered due to the humanitarian catastrophe inflicted by Israel on the Gaza Strip; it’s still insisting and sending threats to continue this criminal aggression against our people following the 6-day truce that came into effect on 24 November, with the Israeli War Minister declaring that the war would resume “with great force” after the truce; its ongoing attempts to forcibly transfer our people from their land, and escalating attacks by Israeli occupying forces (IOF) and settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank.
“The incitement against Palestinians around the world has reached a remarkable dangerous stage. Three Palestinian students, Hisham Awartani, Tahseen Ahmed, and Kenan Abdel Hamid, were shot and injured while leaving their USA university wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh and speaking Arabic. Palestinians are being intimidated and threatened, and we should all remember Wadih Al-Fayoumi, the 6-year-old who was stabbed 26 times to death because he was a Palestinian last October”
While quoting UNICEF representative, Katherine Russell in her address at the UN Security Council meeting on 22 November, he said, “More than 5300 Palestinian children have been reportedly killed in just 46 days or over 115 every day… this is unprecedented. In other words, Gaza Strip is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child. We are also receiving reports that more than 1200 children under the rubble of bombed out buildings. A total of 1652 children were verified killed between 2005 and 2022. Even before this latest escalation, more than 450 000 children in Gaza were identified as needed mental health and psychosocial support. We are particularly concerned by reports of increasing number of displaces children who have been separated from their families along evacuation corridors to the south, or who are otherwise arriving unaccompanied to hospitals for medical care. We are also seeming devastating attacks on schools, with close to 90% of schools sustained damage. Nearly 80% of the remaining pschools’ facilities are being used as shelters for internally displaced people. But even these spaces, where children and families have sought safety after fleeing their homes, have come under attacks. UNICEF is strongly opposed to the establishment of so called safe zones. No place is safe in the Gaza Strip “end quote
Also, In the same Security Council meeting, Sima Bhous, Executive Director of UN-Women on her briefing, reviewed to dangerous situation on Palestine and I quote “Women in Gaza have told us that they pray for peace, but that if peace does not come, they pray for quick death, in their sleep, with their children in their arms. It should shame us all that any mother, anywhere, has such a prayer. Thousands of women in Gaza have lost their homes, with 45% of all housing units destroyed or damaged. Thousands more are injured, unable to find any medical support from a totally shattered health system. 180 women are delivering babies every day without water, painkillers, anesthesia for C-sections, electricity for incubators and medical supplies” end quote
“As we approach two months of genocide and open slaughter, President Abbas Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization PLO has not stopped calling for an immediate ceasefire, the rapid entry of humanitarian aid, and a return to the negotiating table. On the other hand, we did not hear any Israeli official calling for a ceasefire, while all of them, that is, Israeli officials, without exception, did not stop calling for the continuation and intensification of the war, and this is the best scenario, while many others called for a comprehensive transfer and the bombing of Gaza with nuclear weapons. All the military solutions and attempt to bring the Palestinian people to their knees and surrender did not, has not and will not work. The sophisticated and most developed Israeli Western Military machines can only kill another thousands and thousands of the innocent Palestinians, but at all can’t kill the idea and the fundamental right of resisting the brutal occupation.
He concluded that, ” very significant and profound changes are taking place, and a new political and social order is being formed that will occupy a prominent place on the international scene. The global discourse is changing, and those who claim to be the world’s only and final victims have revealed their true colors. The boring masquerade party is about to end”
