Over One Thousand, One hundred and Sixty Six Corps members serving in Kogi State are to receive twenty thousand Naira each.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo made this known in a message to the closing ceremony of the Twenty-Twenty-five Batch “A’ stream One corps members Orientation Course at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Camp, Asaya, Kabba.
Governor Ododo said the gesture was to help the corps members in facilitating their movement to their various places of primary assignments.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu said the present administration remains committed to the growth and development of youths in the state.
He stated that his government will reward hardworking corps members that are dedicated and honest during their service year and assured them of their safety while in the State.
Governor Ododo enjoined them to work closely with those at their places of assignment to contribute their quota to the growth and development of Kogi State.
He commended the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Army officials and other security agencies for their contribution towards the success of the NYSC scheme.
The State Commissioner of Youth and Sports who is also the Chairman of NYSC Kogi State Governing Board, Mr. Monday Anyebe urged the corps members to exhibit highest level of discipline, dedication and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
He urged the corps members to take their Community Development Service seriously and impact their host communities positively.
Mr. Anyebe commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for including corps members in his welfare scheme, saying the Governor has done well through the gesture.
In his speech, the Kogi State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Femi Osungbohun described the contribution of Kogi State government to the growth and progress of NYSC in the state as impressive, saying the office is pleased with the present administration.
Some of the corps members, while speaking to journalists thanked Kogi State Governor for his fatherly role.
