Organized Labour in Kogi State Commends Government on Payment of Leave Bonus

The organized Labour in Kogi State has described the payment of leave bonus by the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman as a remarkable achievement.

In a statement on Tuesday, jointly signed by the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari and that of Trade Union Congress, TUC, Ahmed Tijani Sule noted that the Governor has through the measure demonstrated his political will to positively turn around the fortunes of the people, including workers.

The organized Labour praised the Governor for demonstrating capacity in governance, noting that the workers are glad to be so identified with the administration.

It thanked the Governor for the gesture and assured that the workers across the state will continue to serve as dependable ally in the quest to make the state a model for others to emulate.

According to the statement, no administration succeeds without the workforce and expressed appreciation to the Chief Servant of the state for recognizing such roles.

It also disclosed that the payment of leave bonus is in batches and will end in December this year and urged those yet to receive to be patient.

The statement appreciated workers for their understanding over the years and assured that the present administration was ready to rewrite the history of the state through responsiveness in governance.

The organized Labour however urged government to also be magnanimous by looking into the issue of promotion implementation as well as annual salary increments.

The statement equally noted with delight, the role of the Special Adviser on Labour matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, whose desire is to make a positive difference in the office.

The organized Labour called on workers to do all within their reach by embracing hard work, diligence and loyalty to the present administration in the state.
