A group known as Kogi Central Political Frontiers says there is no going back on the ongoing recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

 

Spokesperson of the Group, Comrade Jafar Kamarudeen told Newsmen at a News briefing that the People of Kogi Central Senatorial District have resolved to recall the Senator for

 

The Spokesperson, Kogi Central Political Frontiers, Comrade Jafar Alim Kamarudeen made this known at a press briefing organized by the group in Lokoja.

 

Comrade Kamarudeen explained that the Kogi central Concerned stakeholders have been watching with keen interest the unfolding events concerning the senator and the saga between the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

 

According to him, the recent review of events that led to the suspension of Senator Natasha for gross misconduct and unruly behavior has not only cast a shadow on the people of the district but also spurred them to question if truly the interest of the people of Kogi central is duly protected in the matter.

 

The Spokesperson maintained that the Senate is an institution with standing rules as an integral part of keeping the order, saying the decision of the senate to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months is in line with the recommendation of the committee on ethics, privileges and public petition for flouting the rules.

 

He expressed worry that despite the window given to senator Natasha to reverse her decision through the second prayer for the senate to consider lifting or reducing the duration of her suspension, she failed to apologise.

 

Comrade Kamarudeen pointed out that after her suspension, there has been no formal communication between senator Natasha and the people of Kogi central as was the routine when she was seeking the support and votes of constituents.

 

The group noted that Since she has refused to apologize for disobeying the rules of the senate and bearing in mind the consequence that the district will be without representation in the red chamber for six legislative months, the people of Kogi central senatorial district have resolved to commence the process of recalling Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the senate.

 

He added that the move will allow them them to elect a responsible, law-abiding team player to represent them at the National Assembly.
