Kogi State Security Adviser, Retired Commander Jerry Omodara has reiterated the readiness of the security apparatus to enforce the implementation and collection of the new Infrastructure Maintenance Levy (IML).
Omodara gave the assurance in a strategic stakeholders engagement meeting involving major players in the transport sector in Lokoja.
According to the State Security Adviser, this issue of extortion by some Union Leaders across the State has been on the front burner for a while, commending Governor Ododo for being proactive.
The State Security Adviser who noted that the presence of heads of security heads at the meeting is a testament to the fact that the policy will be enforced adequately.
In another development, Omodara highlighted the constant danger and loss of lives caused by tricycles popularly called Keke plying major highways within and sometimes beyond Kogi State.
He called on the Commissioner for Transportation, Victor Atuluku to look into the menace and come out with an acceptable framework that will address this growing concern.
