New NDLEA Zonal Command Launched in Anyigba to Combat Drug Trafficking

In a groundbreaking achievement, Kogi East has become the proud host of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) zonal command in Anyigba, courtesy of the legislative drive of Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho.

This milestone marks a significant step towards curbing the menace of drug and substance abuse in the region.

Commissioning the command center, Senator Echocho described the siting of the NDLEA center as a move towards securing the future of young people and guaranteeing a healthy society. He emphasized that drug and substance abuse has become an endemic phenomenon, and the establishment of the zonal command is a crucial step towards addressing this challenge.

A statement by his special assistant on media Mikail Ibrahim says the NDLEA zonal command in Anyigba is expected to serve as a hub for drug control activities in Kogi East and surrounding areas.

According to the statement the agency will work tirelessly to prevent drug trafficking, investigate and prosecute drug-related offenses, and as well provide support for individuals struggling with addiction.

The statement said the dignitries present at the official commissioning and handover of the NDLEA Zonal Command office were Alhaji Danlami Garba representing Senator Echocho, State Commander of NDLEA Umar Mustapha Yahuza, Zonal Commander Hassan Sakaba, Ejeh of Dekina, and Ogohi Oni Anyigba”

The statement reads in part:
“The official take-off and handing-over ceremony of the NDLEA zonal command office is set to commence, marking a new era in the fight against drug abuse in Kogi East.

Senator Echocho’s legislative drive has made history in Kogi East, and his commitment to the well-being of his constituents is evident in this achievement”
