Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo says his administration will continue to uphold due process and transparency in the affairs of Traditional Council.
Governor Ododo in a message to the First Anniversary of Oba Muyiwa Ibeun as Elulu of Mopa, said his administration is committed to sustaining the guidelines in the appointment of Traditional Rulers as well as running of their affairs.
In celebration of the landmark achievements of the Elulu of Mopa in the last one year on the throne of his ancestors, top government functionaries and traditional Rulers both within and outside the State, friends and people of Mopamuro gathered to celebrate the Monarch.
Governor Ododo, who was represented by the Kogi State Security Adviser, Retired Commander Jerry Omodara, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Elulu of Mopa in the last one year especially maintaining peace and uniting his subjects.
The Governor expressed appreciation to Elulu for his support to the safety of lives and property of the people, urging other members of the Mopamuro Traditional Council to work with him to achieve more success.
While emphasizing the need for people of the local Government to be united, Governor Ododo said Road infrastructure will continue to get the attention of his administration.
In his remarks, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja the second expressed his heartfelt felicitations to the Elulu and people of Mopa on the Anniversary celebration, urging Okun people to unite for peace and development of the land.
The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi described the choice of Oba Muyiwa Ibeun as a step in the right direction that has brought good tidings to Mopa land.
The Elulu of Mopa thanked all that have supported him in the last one year, promising to continue to pilot the affairs of the domain with the fear of God, equity and fairness.
The Governor and the Ooni of Ife were conferred with Awards of Excellence as well as the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, who was conferred with the Honourary Chieftaincy title of Yeye Oba of Mopa land.
