The MOSRA Energy Limited has empowered six hundred people of Oti Community in Omala Local Government Area with thirty million Naira.
MOSRA Energy Limited is a coal mining company in Oti Community to mine the large deposit of coal in the area.
The empowerment is part of the corporate social responsibility of the company to enhance better understanding between the company and the host community.
The chairman of Mosra Energy Limited, Engineer Olu Kayode Ramos said the initiative is a testament to MOSRA’s commitment to providing their social responsibilities targeting Youths and farmers in Oti community.
According to him, the aim of the ₦30 million empowerment is to create greater economic opportunities, build capacity, and encourage entrepreneurship amongst market women, Youths, and Farmers.
He thanked the Chairman of Omala Local Government, Mr Michael Edibo for his determination, love and foresight for his people.
Responding the Chairman of the Local Government, Mr Mark Edibo who Co-ordinated the empowerment programme noted that the programme is expected to have positive impacts on the lives of the beneficiaries by enabling them to improve their economic well-being and contribute to the development of their community.
He encouraged beneficiaries to maximise the opportunity, uplift their family and contribute to the development of their community.
Mr. Edibo thanked the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his support and assured him of more efforts to reduce insecurity in the Local Government.
The Deputy Majority leader of Omala Legislative Council who is also representing Icheke Ward, Shaibu Iyaji promised to sustain his loyalty to the Local Government Chairman
towards achieving positive results for the development of the area.
Mr.Adaji Isah and Eleojo Idoga who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary praised Governor Ahmed Ododo, the Chairman of the Local Government and the chairman of the company for the gesture assuring that the community will continue to partner for the peace and development of the land.
The beneficiaries are expected to use the empowerment funds to start or expand their businesses, improve their farming practices, or acquire new skills to contribute to the overall development of the community.
