Mopamuro Agog As Fanwo, Destiny, Fiki Bag Chieftaincy Titles At Coronation of 4th Alamuro

Kogi State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Chief Kingsley Fanwo has been conferred with a Chieftaincy Title of “Oluomo” of Amuro land by the Alamuro of Amuro, Oba Alfred Aiyedogbon.

The conferment of the title on Fanwo and others was part of the activities marking the Coronation of Oba Alfred Aiyedogbon as the fourth Alamuro of Amuro in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

The Ancient City of Aiyeteju Amuro was agog last Saturday as dignitaries from all walks of life, sons and daughters of Amuro, a district with seven Communities gathered amidst singing and dancing for the coronation of Oba Alfred Aiyedogbon as the fourth Alamuro of Amuro land.

One unique thing about the event was the conferment of honourary Chieftaincy Titles on Kogi State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo as the Oluomo of Amuro meaning a Distinguished Son of Amuro.

Also, an All Progressives Congress APC Chairmanship Aspirant, Chief Destiny Ademola bagged the title of Gbeluniyi of Amuro, while High Chief Eric Fiki was honoured  with the Traditional title of Baale of Amuro among others as well as presentation of Awards of Excellence to serving sons and daughters of the District.

The Kogi Information and Communication Commissioner, who was flanked by some of his colleagues at the State Executive Council, Heads of State Owned Media organisations, Management of the Ministry and teaming supporters, said the honour was important to him as it was coming from his people.

According to him, the honour was in recognition of his contributions to the development of Amuro land, saying the honour will spur him to do more for God and humanity.

He expressed appreciation to the Alamuro of Amuro for the Chieftaincy Title as well as the people of the District for the unalloyed support to the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Other Chieftaincy Title Recipients, Chief Destiny Ademola and Chief Eric Fiki described the honour as a reward for hard work and a call for more service.

The Elulu of Mopa, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, Olujumu of Ijumu, Oba Williams Ayeni and Elejuku of Ejuku, Oba Lamidi Ayeni congratulated the Alamuro on his successful coronation and urged him to promote peace in his domain.

In his remarks, the Alamuro of Amuro, Oba Alfred Aiyedogbon promised to promote unity and peace, calling for support of the people of Amuro land.

Earlier, the National President of Amuro Community Development Society, Dr. Gilbert Obajemu expressed appreciation to sons and daughters of Amuro as well as former Governor Yahaya Bello for facilitating the upgrading the Alamuro stool to first class status.

Dr. Obajemu appealed to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to use his office to rehabilitate  Amuro-Takete Idde-Otafun/Ahara and the Takete Idde-Oroke-Iyah Gbede roads to boost economic activities in the Local Government.

Chairman Planning Committee, Commodore Folusho Daniel also thanked the State Government for upgrading the stool of Alamuro to first class status

According to him the Alamuro since ascending the throne of his ancestors has exemplified dedication, humility and unity spirit.

The immediate past Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo Oyila Ozovehe, his successor, Hajia Nana Hauwa Yussuf and the Managing Director of The Graphic Newspaper, Yusuf Itopa among others attended the ceremony.
