Following the massive Defection into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo says there’s no pathway for opposition in the next General elections in the State.
Hon. Fanwo stated this while speaking in an interview with Radio Kogi on the sidelines of the decamping ceremony of former Governor Idris Wada from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some House of Assembly members and others to the APC at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre.
The Commissioner, who attributed the new entrants to the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in every sector.
According to him, the decamping is not about populating the Party but a way of bringing the people together for the common good of the State.
“So it is beyond populating the Party but about uniting the people. As far as we are concerned, there is no newcomer, the defectors should see themselves as already established members of the party.
“The opposition is already giving up, we sympathise with them. We would have loved to see a strong opposition but with what the Governor is doing in the State, there is no way the opposition will be strong. Most of them are coming because they have seen the light and that it is high time we built Kogi together, Hon Fanwo added.
