LG Polls: “You Have the Opportunity Now, Come Out and Contest” – Kogi SGS Tasks Women

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade has called on women in the State to come out and participate actively in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.

Mrs. Ayoade made the call in an exclusive interview with Radio Kogi on the allocation of 40 percent seats in the October 19th Council election in the State by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The SGS, who described the 40 percent as a great opportunity for women, noted that the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is consolidating well on the legacies of the State Leader, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who allocated 35 percent during his tenure.

According to her, the present government in the State is currently operating what she called the advanced New Direction Administration, saying Governor Ododo has proven that his administration has respect for women.

While urging women to contest and support themselves for the election, Mrs. Ayoade expressed optimism that the female folks will make him proud and be loyal in the task of developing the State.

She expressed appreciation to the Governor for his belief in women to contribute their quota to the development of the State, describing women as a special Creatures of God.

The SGS appealed to women not to relent in their support for the Governor and the APC led government in the State for more gains of democracy.
