New Chairman of Kogi State Secondary Education Board, Dr. Habibat Suleiman has hit the ground running with an unscheduled visit to some Secondary Schools in Lokoja, the State Capital.
Dr. Suleiman, who was accompanied by Permanent Members and some management Staff of the Board restated the commitment of the present administration in the State in repositioning Secondary education for optimum performance.
The establishment of Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board (KOSSEB) has led to the abolition of Kogi State Science, Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM).
The unscheduled visit is the first since the constitution of the Board of KOSSEB by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in November last year aimed at getting first hand information on the State of Secondary Schools in the State.
Addressing Teachers at the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo, the Board Chairman, Dr. Habibat Sulieman enjoined them to continue to do their best in impacting knowledge and moral on the Students.
Dr. Habibat, who noted that the visit was to also familiarise with them, assured that the present administration will not disappoint in the area of better working condition and welfare.
The Chairman explained that Governor Ododo is passionate about Secondary Education, hence the establishment of the Board describing repositioning Secondary School as his pet Project.
At the Bishop Delisle College, Doctor Habibat charged the Teachers to avoid lateness and unruly behaviour that could affect teaching and learning.
According to her, the Governor is aware of the challenges facing secondary Education and is making efforts to address them.
Permanent Member one of the Board, Paul Jibrin and the Permanent mener two, Hussaini Ada Alhassan enjoined the teachers to see commitment to duty as their way of contributing to the development of education in the State.
The Principal of GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo Chief Yakubu Godwins, and his Bishop Delisle College counterparts, Victoria Anikoh expressed delight with the visit, assuring of their support at all times.
The KOSSEB Team also visited Muslim Community Secondary School where the Teachers were happy with the message of hope from the Board.
