Kogi State Deputy Governor Receives Defectors From PDP Ahead of Nov. Guber Election

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja says the defection of a former Governorship Aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, Doctor Joseph Erico is a boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chief Onoja , who stated this while receiving the defectors at a ceremony in Olamaboro Local Government, said the defection of the former Governorship Aspirant and supporters of other political parties was a boost to the APC.

The Deputy Governor said since inception, Olamaboro has not lost any election to opposition parties assuring that next month’s election will be won by the APC.

He warned those who will want to engage in violence to desist, and advised supporters of the APC to engage the electorate in a peaceful manner.

Doctor Joseph Erico, who was the Director of Security, PDP Campaign Council in the last general election, said he came with his supporters, to boost the victory of the party, stressing that he remains a force in the politics of Ward two in Olamaboro, especially in his country home, Etutekpe-Okpo.

He called on the people of the area to remain calm and appealed to the electorate not to engage in acts detrimental to the party’s goal.

Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Mr Gabriel Olofu, commended the Deputy Governor for providing leadership that has transformed the area, and commended Doctor Erico for heeding to the call of the people to join the APC.

A former State Treasurer of PDP, Alfred Bello who has earlier defected to the APC in Kogi West noted that he was in attendance to lend credence to Joseph Erico’s defection.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of brooms and flags to Joseph Erico and his supporters.
