The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade PhD on Monday led a powerful government delegation to the family of Late Hon. James Onoja, Zonal Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Idah Federal Constituency, who passed away at the early hours of Sunday 11th January, 2026 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Ayoade, who was accompanied by top Government Functionaries was at Idah, on a Condolence visit to the Family of the Late former Executive Chairman of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area.
While delivering the condolence message of the State Government, the SGS said the entire cabinet of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Chief Servant of the State received the news of the unfortunate demise with rude shock.

She extended the condolence of the Government and people of Kogi State to the immediate family of Late Hon. James Onojah, his political Associates, people of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area and entire Kogi East Senatorial District.
Mrs. Ayoade stated that the Governor and his Cabinet are very pained by the passing of the outstanding Security Adviser, saying his contributions to the peace and development of the State was valuable and appreciated.

According to her, though all men will taste death, but loosing a beloved Husband and bread winner of the Family is a collosal loss, too difficult to fill.
She urged the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived an exemplary and impactful life, worthy of emulation, assuring that the State Government will provided the needed support for the children and wife left behind.
Mrs. Ayoade donated cash to support the burial of the former Local Government Chairman and prayed God to console the family and grant the departed eternal rest in paradise.
Hon. James Onojah until his death, was a dedicated member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and an outstanding Zonal Special Adviser Idah Federal Constituency who committed his totality to the growth and development of the state.
The SGS was accompanied by the Commissioners for Transport , Hon. Levi Atuluku, Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Acharu Okpanachi, Commerce and Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktah Shuabu, Special Advisers on Federal Project Implementation, Chief Emmanuel Obasi and Interior Affairs.
Responding, the family of the former Chairman, expressed appreciation to the State Government for identifying with them in their moments of grief.
The delegation also visited the Attah of Igala land, His Majesty, Chief Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, where she expressed the Condolence of the State Government to the entire Igala Kingdom.
