Kogi SGS Empowers over 100 Widows to Celebrate FGYB at 50

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade has empowered over one hundred widows in celebration of the 50 years birthday of former Governor Yahaya Bello.

 

The empowerment programme is in fulfilment of her promise during the visit to Orphanages in celebration of the birthday of the former Governor Yahaya Bello to also reach out to one hundred widows.

The empowerment programme held at her residence had the joyous widows praising and thanking God with showers of prayers for the Ex Governor and the SGS.

Mrs. Ayoade while speaking at the occasion, called on the widows to continue to pray for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

 

When we celebrated the 50th birthday of my Boss of live, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello and, former Governor of Kogi State, I visited Orphanages, I promised to empower 100 widows to celebrate him.

Mrs. Ayoade noted that the programme was beyond sharing gifts and cash but training on skills that will make them self reliant.

 

She urged the widows to put their trust in God for provision and protection, stressing the need for them to do their best to train their children with the fear of God to be responsible and responsive.

 

The SGS maintained that she is currently studying law to fight for the right of the down trodden, adding that her recent visit to the Koton Karfe Correctional Centre has exposed her to the sufferings of the masses.

 

The founder of Make Me Elegant Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, Mrs. Kehinde Adelaja-Okoroafor said the NGO decided to partner with the SGS to provide skills that will make widows self reliant.

 

Some of the Widows, Abigail James and Florence Oludare wished the former Governor more fruitful and fulfilled life and prayed God to reward the SGS.

 

Items distributed include; bags of rice, semo, clothing, noddles and cash.
