Members of the Kogi state Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, have been urged to join hands with the new executive to move the association forward.
The newly inaugurated Chairperson of the association in the state, Comrade Stella Edoka made the call in her acceptance speech at the NUJ Press Center, Lokoja.
She admonished members to work for the actualisation of the association’s core values of standing up for the vulnerable as well as fighting against gender based violence in the society .
Comrade Stella promised that the new leadership would do their best and work for the growth of the association.
While appreciating the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), for its support to NAWOJ, Comrade Stella Edoka promised to do her best to justify the confidence reposed in her.
Addressing the new officials, the National Secretary of NAWOJ, Mrs Helen Udofa charged the executives to work as a team to enable the Association achieve set objectives.
Mrs Udofa, represented by the Kogi State Council Chairman, Alhaji Adeiza Momoh Jimoh appealed to the new Executives to prioritize the welfare of members and ensure that everyone is carried along in the scheme of things.
In a remark, the immediate past chairperson, Comrade Anne Olurinde expressed appreciation for the support received by the immediate past executive from members of the Association and assured of her continued loyalty to NAWOJ in the years ahead.
Those Inaugurated alongside the new Chairperson include Hajia Rabi Jibo-Mohammed Vice Chairperson, Funmilayo Ibikunle Secretary, Bose Momohjimoh Treasurer, Muslimat Itopa Auditor and Fatima Ali as financial Secretary.
