The newly elected chairmen and councilors of the twenty on Local Government Areas of the state have been called upon to allow true democracy to thrive in their various Local Government Areas.
The state women leader of the forum of Local government Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon. Kairat Abubakar made the call while speaking with our reporter in Lokoja.
She said “as custodian of democracy in their various domain, they should be seen to ensure that the people are satisfied with their style of leadership”.
According to her, true democracy is ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of the Local Governments in which they serve.
While Congratulating them on their well deserved victory, “the women leader urged them to recognize the fact that they are servant leaders of those who elected them into the offices and advised them to put the people first in all they do.
She commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for not interfering in the election process thereby giving room for a free, fair and credible election
