Kogi Central Senator Natasha, Uduaghan, Others Emerge Chairmen of Senate Committees

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Natasha Uduaghan, has been named Chairman of senate Committee on Local Content and Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Steel along side other lawmakers.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio who named the Senators and their committees during plenary on Tuesday had in August announced Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of 74 standing committees, now reconstituted the committees due to loss of mandate by some of the previously named Chairmen and Vice Chairmen .

From the reconstituted committees , he named Senators Jimoh Ibrahim as Chairman of Inter – Parliamentary Affairs , Sumaila Kawu as Chairman, Committee on Sports Development and Patrick Udubueze as Chairman , Committee on Steel .

Others are Senators Shuaibu Isa Lau ( Tourism), Binos Yaroe (State and Local Government Affairs) , Sahabi Alhaji Yau ( National Atomic and Nuclear Energy), Yemi Adaramodu ( Youth and Community Engagement) , Babajide Ipinsagba ( Niger Delta Affairs), Onawo Ogoshi ( Art, Culture and Creative Economy) and Ifeanyi Ubah ( Petroleum Downstream) .

Also named as Chairmen of reconstituted committees are Senators Sampson Ekong ( Solid Minerals Development ) , Idiat Oluranti Adebule ( Social Welfare and poverty alleviation), Jim Kuta ( FCT Area Councils) and Muhammed Goje ( Sustainable Development Growth).

While speaking with Newsmen shortly after plenary, Senator Natasha said she will touch the lives of the people of Kogi Central by reaching them directly from her constituency offices that will be situated at the grassroot, to listen to their challenges and profer solutions to them.

She also promised to take her represennation to the rural areas by coming up with bills that will have a direct impact on the people.

Senator Natasha noted that the Steel Committee is very important to her as it means a lot to the people of Kogi Central and the country at large, adding that her output will bring a change while serving in the two committees

The Lawmaker who described herself as a “political reformer”, promised to sanitize the polical space using her position and her profession to bring about electoral reform in the country.

While appreciating the judiciary for determining the true fact of her petition and the outcome of her victory, she said she will carry out her duty with all diligence and sincerity to give good representation to her people.
