Kogi Athletes Make History, Win Two Gold, Four Bronze And One Silver At Ongoing National Youth Games

Team Kogi has won two gold medals and four bronze medals in table tennis.

The victory placed them at the top of the medal table.

Earlier, the team also won a silver medal in taekwondo during a demonstration fight in individual poomsae.

This brings Kogi’s total medal haul at the Games to seven.

Thirty six states and the Federal Capital Territory are taking part in the ninth edition of the competition.

Coach Friday Abah expressed joy over the performance of his athletes.

He praised their resilience and commitment in securing the medals.

The coach also thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Mr Monday Anyebe for their support.

He called for more investment in training young athletes to keep Kogi’s flag flying.
