The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated the citizens of the state on the occasion of the New Year.
In a press statement made available to journalists in Lokoja, the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker quoted Rt Honourable Umar to have wished the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Deputy Governor, the Governor-elect, members of the state executive council and his colleagues in the state Assembly a rewarding 2024.
While urging the citizens to remember the state in their prayers, he expressed optimism that government at all levels would roll out policies that would better their lives and improve their livelihood.
He further promised the people of the state of the preparedness of the 8th Assembly under his leadership to ensure they work closely with the executive to improve the lives of the people, and assured them that government at all levels would collaborate to ensure improved welfare for them going forward.
The Speaker said his colleagues are carrying out oversight functions even during the Yuletide Season to ensure they aggressively pursue legislations that would make life better for them in the new year.
