KGSG Begins Training Of 250 Artisans Across 21 LGA

The Rector Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute Mr Williams Charles has described Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmad Usman Ododo as a visionary leader capable of taking Kogi State to the promise land.

Mr Williams stated this while addressing the two hundred and fifty artisans to be trained at the institute by the state government through the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs across the twenty one Local Government Area of the state in Lokoja.

Mr Williams said the training was part of (Ododo Youth Empowerment Program) aimed at taking indigent youths off the street and giving them meaningful engagement.

The Rector explained that twenty first century without any Vocational skills is a great disadvantage hence the need to engage youths in skill acquisitions Programmes to enable them compete favorably in the world over and Governor Ahmad Usman Ododo as always has taken the huge steps of taken two hundred and fifty youths off the street.

He noted that the institute has the equipment, manpower and was ready to give the needed training stressing that at the end of the training they would be empowered to engage meaningfully and remain relevant to their families and the society at large.

Mr Williams explained that the government has provided free accommodation and a monthly stipend to ease their running around for the duration of their courses.

Director Finance and Account Ministry of Special Duties And Inter Governmental Affairs Hajiya Zainab Abdulganiyu who led the Monitoring and Evaluation team said the turnout was impressive and she was optimistic that Governor Ahmad Usman Ododo would not regret this gesture towards Kogi youths.

Hajiya Zainab appreciated the Governor and the Commissioner of Special Duties And Inter Governmental Affairs for coming up with such initiative which will impact greatly on their lives and society at large and urged the beneficiaries to not relent in their efforts to encourage the government to do more.

One of the Beneficiaries from Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State Miss Patience Isah who enrolled for Welding and Fabrication was elated to be given the opportunity to learn her dream skill, appreciated Governor Ahmad Usman Ododo for giving her the opportunity which she promised to cherish all forever.

Vocation of interest are nine including Welding and Fabrication, Electrical installation, CNG conversion, Textile and designs, Photography and Cinematography, Solar and CCTV installation, Plumbing and fittings.
