There was jubilation in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State as the State Government commenced the implementation of promotion for workers.
On Monday morning, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade was in her office to perform her official duty when the Staff stormed her office with singing and jubilation after receiving alert of the implementation of Promotion for January Salary.
The joyous Staff who could not hide their joy noted that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has broken the record of years of promotion without cash backing.
One of the Staff of the SGS Office, Mallam Mohammed Yusuf said the State will continue to be indepthed to former Governor Yahaya Bello for giving the State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
On his part, Mr. Ajayi Stephen Bamidele commended the Governor for giving priority to the welfare of workers with prompt payment of salary and leave bonus.
Mr. Bamidele enjoined civil servants to continue to support Governor especially his re-election next year.
The Permanent Secretary, Administration in the SGS Office, Dr. Akogi Ejigbo showered encomiums for seeing the need to implement the promotion for civil servants, describing it as a step in the right direction.
Dr. Ejigbo encouraged workers to use the gesture of the Governor to rededicate themselves service to the implementation of government policies and programmes.
Responding, the SGS, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for implementing the promotion, saying the development has brought smiles on the faces of workers.
According to her, the gesture is the best Anniversary gift to workers and expressed optimism that the Governor will do more to justify the confidence reposed in him.
The staff took turns to offer prayers for the Governor as well as for the peace progress and development of the State.
