The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has delisted 23 Computer Based Test centres across the country following technical deficiencies recorded during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the board’s Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.

According to the statement, the affected centres failed to meet the operational standards required to conduct the examination after a post exam technical review by the board.

Benjamin explained that the mock examination serves as a preparatory exercise aimed at helping candidates become familiar with the Computer Based Test environment while also allowing the board to evaluate the readiness of accredited centres ahead of the main examination.

He noted that while some centres were issued warnings over minor operational issues, one centre in Lagos State has been permanently barred from participating in any examination conducted by the board.
“The mock exercise enables the board to assess facilities, identify technical challenges and ensure that only centres that meet the required operational benchmarks participate in the main examination,” he said.

Benjamin added that the sanctions were part of the board’s efforts to maintain the credibility and integrity of the examination process nationwide.

He also assured candidates that the development would not affect their participation in the main examination, noting that necessary adjustments would be made to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged.

Candidates scheduled for the examination were advised to continue printing their examination notification slips to confirm their examination dates, venues and time.
