JAMB Fixes June 28 for UTME Mop-Up Exam, as 96,838 Candidates to Participate

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed Saturday, June 28, 2025, for its mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a total of 96,838 candidates who missed the main and resit examinations or failed biometric verification are expected to participate, directing all eligible candidates to print their examination slips starting Monday, June 23.

According to a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the mop-up examination will be conducted in 183 centres across the country, Candidates from deactivated examination towns will be reassigned to nearby centres, while others are placed on standby pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.

The Board also announced the suspension or delisting of 113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres over various infractions, including technical failures and involvement in examination malpractice. Centres found guilty will face prosecution.

JAMB commended the efforts of the State Security Service (SSS), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their support in the nationwide investigation into identity theft and impersonation, noting that dozens of culprits, including professional exam takers and corrupt officials, have already been arrested.

The Board warned that impersonators, including undergraduate students caught sitting for others, will face expulsion from their institutions and prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act. JAMB also advised candidates to arrive at their centres at least one hour before the 8:00 a.m. start time, as security and invigilation would be strictly enforced.
