The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disbursed a total of N397,030,900 as transport allowances to 1,909 officials participating in the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), slated for April 10, 2025.

The disclosure was made by JAMB’s Director of Finance, Mr. Mufutau Bello, during a readiness assessment meeting held in Abuja. Bello stressed the national significance of both the mock examination and the main UTME, emphasizing that the funds released so far represent only the first tranche of payments, covering one-third of all officials involved in the exercise.

He stated, “The mock examination marks the beginning of our core mandate, and it is critical that we maintain the highest standards. The success of this exercise underpins the integrity of our educational system. Over N397 million has been paid as transport allowances to 1,909 officials traveling for the mock exercise scheduled for April 10. This amount covers only the initial batch of officials.”

In response, JAMB staff pledged their full commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible conduct of both the mock examination and the main UTME across the country.

They also addressed public concerns regarding local travel allowances, attributing the debates to a limited understanding of the extensive logistical demands required for a nationwide examination.
