IYD: Nihi Tasks African Youths on Charting New Cause to More Inclusion in Governance

The Vice President, West Africa, Pan-African Youth Union, Oladele John Nihi, says African Youths must chart a new cause for more inclusion Governance across the African Continent.

Oladele John Nihi stated this while speaking as one of the Panelists at an event to mark this year’s International Youth Day in Luanda, Angola.

The International Youth Day is observed annually on August 12 for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues worldwide.

Gathered in Luanda, Angola are African Youth Leaders to chat the way forward for the youth development in the Continent.

Oladele John Nihi, the Vice President, West Africa, Pan-African Youth Union, while speaking during a panel discussion said the time has come for youths to stop sitting on the fence and take what belongs to them particularly “youth inclusion in Governance.”

He told the gathering about the Not too young to run bill that has removed the age embergo that had before now, hindered youths from contesting for elective positions.

Nihi, who is the Special Adviser on Youths and Students Affairs to Kogi State Governor, urged other African countries to emulate the not too young to run bill in Nigeria to give the young generation self of belonging in governance.

The Special Adviser said instead of focusing on getting more followers on Social Media, youths should be united and give priority to things that will benefit them.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”
