Governor Yahaya Bello has approved the take over of the UBE Girls Secondary School ODU Okpegede in Dekina Local Government Area by Kogi State Science Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM).
The approval, signed by the Governor, directed the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Chairmen of STETSCOM and the state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to effect the take and handover effectively.
The handover according to the statement was for full utilization of the facilities by the Community and the State at large.
UBE Girls School ODU Okpegede in Dekina Local Government Area was one of the Schools build by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in each of the Senatorial Districts of the Country to breach the gap in girls education in the Country.
The project which was abandoned was renovated by the State Government upon approval from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja.
