Kogi State Government is to partner with Surveyor General of the Federation to resolve boundary differences in Ette Community of Olamaboro Local Government Area.
The Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this in a message when he visited Ette community of Olamaboro Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu said the aim of the visit is to address long-standing land dispute between Ette Community of Kogi State with other communities in Enugu State.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo assured the communities that the State Government would liaise with Surveyor General of the Federation to resolve the issue without violence or bloodshed.
According to him the State Government under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will deploy the necessary measures and peace-building efforts to resolve the dispute amicably.
Earlier the representative of the Federation Boundary Commission, Mr Akagwu J. Called on the communities involved for interface and have on the spot assessment to bringing a lasting solution towards the disputing areas.
According to him disputed areas would be demarcated and boundaries would be clearly defined in no distance time.
Relief materials was presented to the people of Ette community to cushion the effect of the crisis on the lives of the people of the areas.
