Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed deep gratitude to the people of Kabba-Bunu for their unwavering support and pledged to continue to serve with sincerity, humility, and transparency.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting held in Kabba-Bunu, the governor described the people’s mandate as a sacred trust which he is determined to uphold for the collective good of all Kogites.

“You stood by a son you did not know, a child of no one, and gave me your mandate,” the governor said emotionally. “That trust you placed in me is a covenant, and I am holding it in trust for the good of every Kogi citizen. We are working hard to deliver on that mandate.”

Governor Ododo thanked the people for their steadfast support during and after the last election, acknowledging the challenges faced by the state but emphasizing that his administration remains focused on fulfilling its promises.

“I know it has not been easy, but your prayers and encouragement have kept us going,” he said. “Even in our most difficult moments, you stood firm with us. We are overcoming challenges, and we will not betray your trust.”

The governor paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a selfless and sincere leader dedicated to the welfare of all Nigerians.

“Mr. President is a father and a true leader who leads from his heart,” Ododo noted. “For a man who lacks nothing to still think every moment about those of us who have less that is genuine leadership. He is not only leading from the front but also raising responsible followers, and I am proud to be one of them.”

Governor Ododo recounted how President Tinubu supported his political aspirations despite not having any prior personal relationship with him, saying the president’s gesture reinforced his resolve to serve the people with integrity.

The governor also emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in governance, noting that he visited Kabba-Bunu to pay homage to Traditional Rulers who played vital roles in his journey to leadership.

He further described traditional rulers as custodians of wisdom and peace, whose contributions to community stability cannot be overemphasized.

Addressing recent criticisms circulating on social media, the governor dismissed them as distractions, assuring that no amount of noise would deter his administration from focusing on service delivery and the welfare of the people.

Governor Ododo concluded his address by reaffirming his total dedication to the service of Kogi State and its people, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him.

“You gave me your mandate, and I will continue to serve you with sincerity, humility, and the fear of God,” he pledged. “I owe my loyalty to you and to the trust you placed in me.”

In his remarks, the Kogi State APC Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, commended Governor Ododo for his people-oriented leadership, describing his governance style as transparent and result-driven.

“I want to align myself with the quality leadership Governor Ododo has demonstrated since assuming office. His commitment to the welfare of Kogites is evident across the board,” Bello said.

In their goodwill messages, the Grand Patron of Okun United for Ododo, Hon. Baji Jimoh, House of Representative representing Kabba Federal constituencies Salman Idris,  and former speaker Kogi State House of Assembly Prince Mathew Kolawole commended Governor Ododo for his impressive performance in office, assuring that the people of Kabba-Bunu will stand firmly with him when the time for endorsement comes.
