In his bid to make the Kogi State University, Kabba one of the best in the country, the Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has embarked on massive infrastructural development in the institution.
The infrastructures which include Theater Halls, Lecture Halls, Hostels and some administrative buildings are fast shaping the school as a first class citadel for learning and excellence.
Also, the Governor’s massive investment in the road network within the university is fast unfolding into an engineering beauty to behold.
Newsmen who were on tour of the institution, interacted with some management staff of the institution, many of whom expressed delight in the massive infrastructural projects going on in the University.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Hon. Tade Oshaloto told them that the Governor has “left no one in doubt as to his readiness to make the institution one of the best in the country”.
His words: “It is not a surprise that we are already oversubscribed by prospective students for the next session. It is a good problem for us as it also shows that students are beginning to admire the beauty that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is creating at the Kogi State University, Kabba. He has shown and demonstrated commitment and I must say we are lucky to have such a Governor who is keeping the flag flying”, he said.
The Kogi State University, Kabba was founded by the former Governor of the State, Alh. Yahaya Bello in his gracious response to the agitation of the people of Okunland to have a full-fledged university in the area.
The establishment of the University endeared the administration to the people of Okunland and Kogi West in general.
