The former member representing Bassa Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Rai Daniyan  has expressed profound joy over the mass defection of prominent political figures into the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the event as “a bold reaffirmation of Kogi’s collective quest for unity, stability, and progressive leadership.”

The historic gathering in Lokoja witnessed the defection of former Governor Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada; the SDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi; former Speaker Umar Ahmed Imam; and thousands of their supporters from various political parties.

The ceremony was further elevated by the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima, the APC National Chairman, other national officers of the party, former Governor Yahaya Bello, and the Chief Servant of the State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Hon. Daniya, who also joined the ruling party, described the occasion as “electrifying and symbolic of a new political awakening,” noting that the alignment of political forces signifies a stronger future for Kogi State.

“We are witnessing a new dawn—one anchored on unity of purpose and an unshakable belief in the growth and development of our dear state,” he declared. “The influx of leaders of great pedigree into the APC is a testament to the credibility, focus, and developmental direction of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.”

Hon. Daniya seized the moment to call on other politicians and stakeholders from Bassa and surrounding areas to join the APC, stressing that their participation is crucial in consolidating the purposeful governance of Governor Ododo for the collective good of the people.

“It is time for all of us to come together under one umbrella and strengthen the development strides currently underway. I urge my brothers and sisters in politics to join the APC so we can consolidate on Governor Ododo’s transformative leadership,” he said.

He further expressed confidence in the political trajectory of the ruling party, assuring that with the current momentum and unity, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo are well positioned for resounding reelection victories in 2027.

“With the overwhelming support we are building and the clear direction of governance, I have no doubt that President Tinubu and Governor Ododo will be overwhelmingly returned to office in 2027,” he affirmed.

Hon. Daniya reassured the people of Bassa and Kogi State of his commitment to supporting policies that will foster peace, development, and prosperity.

“Together, we are building a stronger Kogi—one step at a time, one voice at a time, one vision for all,” he concluded.
