Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged the people of Ijumu Kingdom to expect more infrastructure developments as his is committed to their wellbeing.
The Governor stated this at the 2025 Ijumu Cultural Festival held at the Olujumu’s Palace in Iyara, headquarters of the Local Government Area.
On Saturday, all Communities in Ijumu Kingdom gathered at the Olujumu’s Palace to celebrate the 2025 Ijumu Cultural Festival, a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Local Government amidst dancing and singing.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in a message to the occasion commended the people of Ijumu for sustaining the cultural heritage of the Kingdom.
Represented by the Director General Kogi State Government House Administration, Alhaji Shuaibu Umar Oricha, the Governor assured that his administration will sustain its efforts in providing security and infrastructure in the Area.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Alhaji Isiaka Adabenege described the Culture of Ijumu people as unique, commending the Ijumu Development Union (IDU) for organising the programme.
He called on the people of Ijumu to continue to support the present administration of Governor Ododo by being law abiding and effort to nip crimes in the bud.
On his part, the Director General of Ijumu Cultural Festival, Mr. Funsho Olumoko stated that Culture remains an instrument for uniting the people and economic development if properly utilised, stressing the need to review current security architecture.
The Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Haruna Ibrahim while congratulating Ijumu sons and daughters on the ceremony, urged the people to support the government in fighting crimes and criminality.
The National President of Ijumu Development Union (IDU), Comrade Ahmed-Ade Fatai said is administration is committed to reawakening the culture of the Local Government, unite the people and honour illustrious sons and daughters that have performed excellently.
Comrade Ahmed-Ade, who commended the State Government for its efforts in the area of Security, calling for more tonne done in the Education, and infrastructure sectors.
