Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo says his administration remains focused and determined to make sure that the State is crime free.
Governor Ododo stated this in message to this year’s Ekinrin Adde Day Festival.
Represented by his Deputy, the Governor solicited the support and cooperation of the people of the State in the task of winning the war against insecurity.
According to him, the festival is a laudable initiative, coming at a time when Government and security agencies are winning the war against insecurity especially in Kogi West.
He noted that the state will never be a safe haven for criminals as everything humanly possible will be done to flush them out of the State.
The Governor described the event as Special as it does not only mark the celebration of the rich Cultural Heritage of the Community but a symbol of Unity.
He added that Infrastructure is the backbone of any Community and investing in it cannot be overemphasized, pledging his administration’s support to the infrastructure development fund.
On his part, the Chairman of the Occasion, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaye congratulated the Olu Adde for the ongoing development effort in the Community, praying to God to grant him a long life.
Earlier, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu noted that the festival is an opportunity for sons and daughters of the Community to come together to unite and contribute to Community development.
Highlights were conferment of Chieftaincy title on some Personalities including the State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo as Aare Fimogboye of Ekinrin Adde and the presentation of the New Yam, Iwo Olori, Ere Iyawo among others.
