Eid-el Kabir Celebration: Reach out to the poor- Assembly Clerk tells Muslim Faithful

As Muslims across the State celebrate this year’s Eid-el -Kabir, the Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Service, Kogi State House of Assembly ,Alhaji Chogudo Ahmed Sule has called on the faithful to reach out to the poor, vulnerable and destitute in the society.

Alhaji Chogudo in a statement signed by the Head, Information Department of Kogi State House of Assembly, Idowu Aliu said there was no better time to demonstrate the spirit of sacrifice towards these categories of people than now that the people were going through economic hardship and needed support from the well to do individuals around them.

According to him, Allah is more pleased with those who extend love and support to the less privileged, urging wealthy Muslims not to go about having funfair without recourse to those who look up to them for succour.

He noted that the life of Prophet Ibrahim signified total obedience to the will of Allah as he made attempt to sacrifice his son, pointing out that it behoves on every Muslim faithful to give sacrificially to attract Allah’s blessings.

Alhaji Chogudo who felicitated with the State Legislators and all Muslims for the privilege to witness another Eid-el -Kabir, said the state and the country at large needed prayers and hard work to come out of the economic quagmire threatening the common good of the people.

He said he was hopeful that with the collective efforts of Nigerians, the country would surmount the current hardship it is facing and enjoined the people to keep faith in the quest to see a better Nigeria.
