The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Scholarship Board, Mr. Afolabi Joseph Raji, has called on all eligible students of Kogi State origin in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria to complete their bursary registration before the October 30 deadline.
Mr. Raji made the appeal while speaking on the weekly audience participatory programme of Radio Kogi, State of Kogi, in Lokoja.
He explained that the online application portal for the Season Two of the Kogi State Students’ Bursary Scheme was opened on September 29, following a press conference at the Ministry of Education led by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones.

According to him, the ongoing registration marks the second phase of the bursary disbursement under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has shown great commitment to the welfare of Kogi students.
“We are ensuring that no Kogi student is left behind, as directed by His Excellency. Parents should encourage their children to register and upload their documents so they don’t miss out on this opportunity.”
The Executive Chairman noted that the bursary registration process takes only a few minutes and can be completed online, adding that students who fail to register before the closing date may not be eligible to receive the allowance.
Mr. Raji further stated that the Scholarship Board, under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s leadership, remains dedicated to supporting students and promoting education through timely bursary and scholarship payments.
“The Governor is deeply concerned about the welfare of Kogi students. The bursary is one of the many ways his administration is easing the financial burden on students and their families.”
He urged all students of Kogi State origin to take immediate action, complete their registration, and upload the required documents before Friday, October 30, to qualify for payment in the ongoing bursary exercise.
Some of the callers who contributed to the program, Achor Man-U from Ejule in Ofu Local Government, Idoko Monday from 500 housing units, Lokoja and Glory Torere commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the gesture and appealed for upward review of the Bursary from thirty thousand Naira to one hundred thousand Naira in view of the current economic reality.
The Executive Chairman paid a visit on the Director General of the State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuff to thank her for providing the platform for the publicity of the activities of the State Scholarship Board.
