The pioneer Bishop of Diocese of OgoriMagongo, Right Reverend Festus Davies was consecrated Bishop in the year two thousand and nine when the Diocese of OgoriMagongo was inaugurated.
Celebrating his sixtieth birthday at the Cathedral of Saint Peter, Ogori was a moment of appreciation to God for His manifold goodness.
Expressing his appreciation to God, Bishop Davies busted into singing – ‘ I will sing of the goodness of the Lord and all He has done for me. My very soul shall shout hallelujah. Praise God for saving me’ .
‘I want to start by giving thanks to God Almighty for His goodness and mercy. For showing me the way at the early stage of my life’.
‘God has been wonderful to me. Since nineteen eighty five that I gave my life to him, He has been my guide and protector’.
‘ What I am today is his own doing not my making’. Bishop Davies stated.
Right Reverend Festus Davies charged everyone to continue to depend on God as He is always faithful and loving.
He affirm that though life is full of challenges and troubles nevertheless those who put their trust in God are secured.
Bishop Davies charged young people to know that not all that glitters are gold, and admonished young ladies especially to be weary of taking gifts from strangers as they may turn out to be an entrapment.
He assured that whatever the situation anyone is in, God is able to deliver.
The wife of the celebrant, Mrs Susan Davies who was overjoyed over God’s protection for her husband said she lacked words to use in appreciation of God’s numerous blessings upon her husband’s life.
She described her husband as being loving, caring,a friend, and a mentor to her .
Mrs Davies prayed for more oil of God upon her husband.
Elder brother to the Bishop, Mr Victor Davies said the Bishop, a quite and gentleman has been the rallying point since their growing up days in their family.
Mr Victor Davies while thanking God for the life and ministry of his brother also thanked the people of OgoriMagongo for accepting him as their Bishop.
He wished his brother God’s support and help in the years ahead.
