Women in the Diocese of Ogori-Magongo Anglican Communion, have been advised Never to loose their focus on God in whatever they are facing.
Wife of the Bishop of the Diocese and President Mothers’ Union/Women Guild, Mrs Susan Davis gave the advice at the 9th bi- annual Women Conference held at Saint James’ Anglican Church, Magongo.
The Diocese which was founded in two thousand and nine by the then Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Peter Akinola, is holding its nineth Women Conference.
Wife of the Bishop of the Diocese and President of the Mother’s Union/Women Guild, Mrs Susan Davis in her address said the theme for the conference, God is Our Refuge and Strength, came as an assurance for her after having been through some health challenges.
She said Psalm forty-six verse one encourages hoping and trusting in God and His gracious presence with His Church in the worst of times.
‘ As we sit here today, some of us are carrying burdens. Some of us are dealing with unemployment, family squabbles, marrital infidelity, bareness, stubborn children and even hunger.
‘You may feel abandoned. Friends and family have betrayed you. You have prayed, fasted, sought intercession from pastors and bishops, still, it seems as the heaven is silent’.
‘But I am here to tell you, God is faithful. God is your refuge. He is your strength. Don’t give up. God is still in control.’ Mrs Davis stated.
She charged the women to always run to God in times of trouble.
According to her, God is not distant but right there with His people.
She admonished women to learn to wait for God’s timing to bring about God’s best for them.
