The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro ( PDP Benue South) , has defended his style of opposition in the 10th Senate by stating that constructive collaboration with those in position of authority is far better than needless confrontation.
The Senator who stated this on Friday in his office to journalists covering the Senate said the collaborative leadership for good governance award bestowed on him by the Senate Press Corps, was apt and justification for his style of leadership as a minority leader.
The Senate minority leader while acknowledging the sincere and honest observations of the Senate Press Corps before bestowing him the award
said “Minority Leadership to me , is not for confrontation but constructive collaboration with those in the ruling party for good governance for Nigerians”
Senator Moro said as a person he believes in collaboration and compromise as a veritable tool in leadership for advancement.
“What we call opposition is ordinarily intended to persuade people to act in a manner that otherwise they may not necessarily act” Senator Moro noted.
“ Yes , I was elected into the Senate on the platform of PDP but as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I need to work with other Nigerians to advance the cause of Nigeria” The Minority Leader stated.
