Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH) has refuted the alleged extortion of the public with exorbitant Medical charges from patients as false allegations.
The Chief Medical Director, Professor. Isah Adagiri disclosed this while reacting to online publication on exorbitant Medical charges mated on the citizens in Lokoja.
The CMD said in the last two years the management has not increase its medical charges, noting that the hospital was established to serve the people at affordable charges.
He described the online publication geared towards tarnishing the image of the Chief Medical Director as one that was masterminded by mischief makers who are insiders assuring that no stone would be left unturned in fighting corrupt practices.
According to him, the malicious publication aimed to malign the health institution failed woefully as it was purportedly authored by corrupt officials either on trial but are fighting back.
Professor Isah lamented that some staff that were either dismissed, suspended, under investigation for various criminal offenses, who over the years have constituted themselves into a clog in the wheels of progress of the health institution are after the smooth running of the health institution and now are after him.
The CMD explained that the faceless social media bloggers, working with some staff who have been dismissed, or on suspension and some under investigation are behind the satanic publication, lamenting that the online medium deviated from the core values of the journalism practice of investigation and balancing before publication of news item.
The CMD fingered the perpetrators of the devilish but unsubstantiated report as those who have been known to be behind the many problems of the hospital through false publication in times past, and expressed optimism that they have failed because the Specialist Hospital under the administration of former Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has remained a health institution that has been better repositioned for efficient service delivery to the people.
